Road markings are typically thermoplastic substances applied, using mechanically propelled machines. This method, commonly referred to as EXTRUSION, has existed for over thirty years. It has become the most commonly used application method in the road marking industry nationwide and is the most effective technique for large scale road lining with minimal disruption to traffic flow.
The thermoplastic output thickness is pre-selected and applied to the road through an extrusion mould. Glass beads are applied simultaneously with the thermoplastic to give instant retro reflectivity to the markings. This method of road marking is compatible with a range of road surfaces including asphalt, tarmac, bitmac and surface dressing.
As Extrusion is used primarily on highways and roads RSC Group rely on their certified Traffic Management capabilities to control traffic flows and ensure vehicle, pedestrian and operator safety in and around the work area
